Tami Lawrence, Ph.D., OTR/L
President and Founder

Dr. Lawrence is the founder and president of HHPTC. She founded the clinic in 2007 after working in the pediatric field for over 15 years and mentoring under several Sensory Integration experts in the field. She received her undergraduate degree from McGill University in 1990 and her Master’s degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University in 1993. In 2011, Dr. Lawrence completed her Ph.D. at Nova Southeastern University. She is qualified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) ®, has advanced training in Integrated Listening Systems®, Handwriting Without Tears ®, and many other treatment approaches. Her expertise and areas of interest include Autism Spectrum and Sensory Processing Disorders, and enabling play skills and participation in both home and school settings.

Dr. Lawrence enjoys mentoring occupational therapy students, and serves as clinical adjunct instructor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. She is involved in several community organizations, and co-founded the Lowcountry Autism Foundation with friend and colleague Tripp Ritchie.

In addition to her other accomplishments Tami has authored several articles and most recently co-authored a chapter in An Occupational Perspective on Leadership (2009). In her free time, when she is not running the clinic, mentoring or writing, she can be found spending time in fitness-related activities, but her greatest passion is spending quality time with her son.

Leslie K. Rogers, COTA/L
Licensed occupational therapy assistant

Miss Leslie joined the occupational therapy staff at Hilton Head Pediatric Therapy Center in 2009. She graduated from Maria College in Albany NY with an Associates degree in occupational therapy. Miss Leslie recently completed training in Integrated Listening Systems, and advanced training in Handwriting Without Tears, a developmentally-based program emphasizing a multisensory approach to teaching handwriting. Besides coming to "play" at work every day, Miss Leslie values time spent with her family, and of course, Gizmo, the family dog.

Christina Busch Cahn
Office Manager

Christina Busch Cahn is our Office Manager at HHPTC. She provides support to the therapists in addition to her duties in the front office which include scheduling, accounting and insurance billing. Miss Christina moved with her family to the Lowcountry from Virginia, and joined HHPTC in August 2011.
